Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) is better known under her real moniker Ari Lennox is an American singer and songwriter born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist signed to J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. Dreamville Records released her debut album titled Pho in the month of October of 2016 when she began getting noticed. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading music on the internet in 2012 after she dropped her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The singer continued uploading her tracks online through 2014, including the independently-released single Bound. On 21st of July the 21st of July in 2015 Omen included her in Elephant Eyes' track Sweat It Out. In the following year, her music began to circulate all over the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some possible references for Rihanna. In December 2008, the news was made public that Rihanna was contracted with Dreamville Records. On the release album Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the track Backseat alongside Cozz. On October 21, 2016 the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as opening the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017 in which she was joined by EarthGang. She also appeared on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus together with Bas and her labelmates. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. A music video then released in September. In November, she dropped two additional singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. In November, 13 the singer released two new singles titled One and Pdigree. One as well as Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby then made an appearance on the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She released this single to celebrate her debut album titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. In February 2019, the music video for the song was released. The track has garnered more than 3 million YouTube views in just one week. As a support act she performed in concert with 6LACK during December 2018 on their From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
